Mülheim Company Run

In oppressively sultry weather but dry conditions, 8 employees of Standardkessel Baumgarte also took part in a starting field of over 2500 runners. In the very well organised running event, only members of company running groups could take part, so that a cross-section of companies based in Mülheim could be found in the starting field.

The start of the run was at the Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences and went on a circular course with a total length of 5.6 km through parks and along the Ruhr, over 2 Ruhr bridges to the finish at the Ringlockschuppen Ruhr. Along the course there were numerous groups of spectators who supported the runners with live music, cheers and lots of applause.

Our 8 runners achieved quite good results with their placings, but it was not possible to come close to the top runners. With 18 minutes and 43 seconds, an employee of the Evangelical Hospital Mülheim achieved the best time. Our places were between 129th and 1059th with times between 28:23 and 36:06 (min:sec).

After the running event there was a colourful after-show programme for the participants and the visitors with music, food and various cold drinks on the grounds of the Ringlockschuppen.

Next year there will be another company run and we would be happy if we could find more colleagues to participate.
