1st boiler column positioned in Speyside

March 2015

On 9 March at the Speyside location in Scotland the first boiler column was positioned for the future biomass-fired power plant. On 12 March the complete boiler cradle had already been completely assembled.

The next steps are the assembly of the complete grate as well as the erection of the fuel feeding system, ash hoppers and other auxiliary units. Parallel to that the boiler pressure part will be prepared and subsequently also be lifted into the steel structure.

The biomass-fired power plant will in future feed approx. 12.5 MW of electricity into the public grid and export approx. 9 MW of process steam to supply the neighbouring Macallan distillery.
