Baumgarte Boiler Systems GmbH win the order for the first waste-to-energy plant in Romania

On 12 December 2013, in the presence of the representatives of the City of Timisoara, Romania, the Romanian enterprise S.C. International Recycling Energy S.A. signed the contract for the installation of the first waste-to-energy plant in the country. Contractor for this turnkey plant is Baumgarte Boiler Systems GmbH together with the local consortium partner Romelektro.

 

From the year 2016 onwards the energy produced in this plant will be used to supply electricity and heat to the City of Timisoara. 

 

The scope of supply comprises the turnkey plant system for the processing of around 85,000 tons of waste materials per annum.

 

Technical data:

Rated thermal input: 34.5 MWth
Electrical power: around 7 MWel
District-heat capacity: around 23 MWth
Steam generation rate: 40.5 t/h
Steam pressure: 42 bar
Steam temperature: 430 °C

 

Consequently, this is not just a conciliatory end of the year in a difficult market environment but also a very promising beginning of the year 2014.
