Following a project handling period of 30 months, Baumgarte Boiler Systems GmbH was able to handover a further important reference into operation.
The energy produced by the Waste-to-Energy plant provides power and heat not just to the City of Oulu but also to the chemicals producer Kemira Oy.
Already on 2 April 2012 the first fire could be ignited in the WtE plant. This was the very first waste fire on a BAUMGARTE pusher-type grate in Scandinavia and thus a significant milestone in the expansion of our market presence.
With an annual fuel throughput of 130,000 tons the plant has a total thermal power output of 54 MW and generates 59 tons of steam per hour at 48 bar and 425 °C or 515 °C downstream of the external superheater
The final take over will take place after expiry of the contractually warranty period.
