Following an entire project handling period of 33 months Baumgarte Boiler Systems, as a system supplier, was able to handover a further important reference with an extended scope of supply.

After the first refuse-derived fuel fire was ignited on 1 December 2012, Spreerecycling GmbH & Co. KG took over the plant system on 15 April 2013.

With a rated thermal heat input of 110 MW, the combined heat and power plant not just supplies process steam to the paper mill Hamburger Spremberg but also provides the public network with approx. 17 MW of electrical power.

The annual fuel requirement of 255,000 t is covered by residual materials from the paper production and externally procured refused derived fuels.

The final takeover will occur following the expiration of the contractual warranty period.
