Standardkessel Baumgarte receives the order for the construction of a turnkey energy from waste plant in Scotland

January 2018

MVV Environment Baldovie Ltd., a subsidiary of the Mannheimer Energy Company MVV, is constructing an energy from waste plant at the Dundee location in Scotland.
Standardkessel Baumgarte GmbH’s Energy from Waste branch acts as a general contractor and is responsible for the turnkey supply, construction and commissioning of the whole power plant.

The plant will be constructed next to an already existing fluidised bed firing unit and is to replace the latter in the long term. The electricity generated will be fed into the public grid and a neighbouring industrial company will be supplied with steam.

Up to the present day, Standardkessel Baumgarte has constructed 115 EfW plants, mainly in Europe. In the case of this order, MVV is relying on the experience gained from the direct predecessor project in Plymouth that Standardkessel Baumgarte implemented for the sister company MVV Environment Devonport Ltd.

Technical data:

Rated thermal input: 39.9 MWth
Fuel throughput: 110,000 t/a
Steam capacity: 49.2 t/h
