In April 2016 an order was placed with Standardkessel Baumgarte Service GmbH by SCA Hygiene Products GmbH in Mannheim for a major upgrade to be carried out on the existing biomass-fired boiler.
Within the scope of the conversion work the grate, the existing burners and the control system together with the PCS are being replaced. The complete upgrade is also aimed at increasing efficiency.
The boiler efficiency will be significantly increased. Moreover, the emission values will be reduced: service pressure: 117 bar, superheated steam temperature: 525 °C.
