On 30.01.2015 Standardkessel lit up the first wood fire in Kauai power plant and hence comes a great step closer to the completion of the power plant.
The ignition of the first fire took place in the presence of the Chief Boiler Inspector and his colleague who made a very positive statement following the event.
The pressure tests of all the systems during which the high pressure part of the boiler was exposed to a test pressure of 147 bar (g), had already been undergone successfully beforehand.
The biomass-fired power plant will in future feed at least 6.7 MWel into the public grid on the island of Kauai.
