On 05.06.2020 the first boiler support was installed at the Gelsenkirchen-Scholven refinery location for the two future steam generating plants. The first important milestone has thus been reached.
In the next step, first the complete steel supporting structure will be hoisted into place and the fresh air and flue gas ducts installed. After that, the components will be positioned on the different levels and, parallel to that, the combustion chamber will be pre-assembled and lifted into place. Subsequently, the assembly work will start on the next of the total of four steam generators.
The new steam generating plants are part of a comprehensive modernization project that STEAG GmbH is implementing for Ruhr Oel GmbH at the refinery location in Gelsenkirchen-Scholven. Standardkessel Baumgarte GmbH is supplying the energy-efficient steam generators.
