July 2023
The work regarding the waste-to-energy plant in Chalampé, which was commissioned by the B+T Group from Alsfeld, is in full swing. With the delivery of the first fuel and the blow-out process, further important steps up to regular operation have been completed.
The first fuel delivery has arrived and the fuel bunker can now be filled with up to 3,000 tonnes of material. The Chalampé power plant will be commissioned in July and will cover about 1/3 of the energy demand of Alsachimie's chemical site in a climate-friendly and resource-saving way by thermally recycling non-recyclable waste.
To prepare the WtE plant for regular operation, another important process was also started - the so-called blow-out process. This involves flushing the pipes and lines of the boiler plant with high-pressure steam and cleaning them from the inside. After completion of the blow-out process, which complies with licensing and legal requirements, the boiler pressure part and the pressure-carrying pipes can be connected to the piping network and the commissioning process of the WtE plant can continue.
We would like to thank all those involved for their active commitment and wish them continued success in the further tasks ahead.
