In June 2019, SBG was awarded the contract to complete and commission the plant. An initial schedule envisaged commissioning as early as mid-2020. This was followed by several months of technical reviews, the boiler pressure test in November 2019 and the conversion of the DCS and boiler safety control system began. Commissioning took place from January 2021 after all the necessary inspection and conversion measures, subject to the conditions of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. A control room was set up in the NSC control room specifically for the commissioning personnel. VEB2 was recommissioned at the beginning of June 2021. This was followed by the planned optimisation phase.
The final acceptance was celebrated on 21 December 2023.
We would like to thank our project team for their tireless efforts as well as the entire project team on both sides. Without the good co-operation at all levels, such a success would not have been possible.
