Hydraulic pressure test celebration - Flensburg municipal utilities

May 2015

On 18.03.2015 the hydraulic pressure test of the boiler plant and on 24.4.2015 the hydraulic pressure test of the HP lines were successfully completed in Flensburg. Approximately 13,150 pressure part weld seams proved their tightness at test pressures of up to 315 bar.

Within the scope of a hydraulic pressure test celebration, this event was accordingly acknowledged on 11.05.2015. Besides Mr. Render, Managing Director of Flensburg municipal utilities, Dr. Scholz, Managing Director of Standardkessel GmbH, took the opportunity to say a few words to the guests.

After questioning the TÜV representative, Mr. Geppert, concerning the correct and orderly performance of the hydraulic pressure test and the traditional reading out of the boiler saying, stamping of the boiler nameplate was carried out by Messrs. Render, Spitzmann (project manager of Flensburg municipal utilities), Dahmen (project manager at SKG) and Geppert. The new CCPP (combined-cycle power plant) is to go into operation at the end of next year and to then replace two old coal-fired boilers. In future the power plant will generate hot water for district heating and electric current for the city of Flensburg and at the same time reduce the CO2 emission by 40% with the same amount of energy.
