Speyside biomass-fired plant receives IJGlobal Europe & Africa Award 2014

February 2015

On 19 February 2015 the IJGlobal Europe & Africa Awards 2014 were presented in London. The biomass-fired CHP plant in Speyside, Scotland was distinguished with an award for outstanding achievements and innovations in energy and infrastructure financing in the category “European Transactions - European Biomass”.

Speyside power plant is the first biomass-fired power plant in the United Kingdom that was financed via stock exchange-quoted bonds. The company John Laing participated in the project together with the British Green Investment Bank. The rest of the financing will be financed in the form of bonds through stock exchange-quoted bonds. The Speyside biomass project shows that the project developers, jointly with the plant constructor, are able to meet the great challenges facing them during the development of such a project to the satisfaction of all investors.

IJGlobal is a magazine for global project financing as well as market activities and infrastructures and every year it presents the IJGlobal Europe & Africa Award for outstanding achievements and innovations in energy and infrastructure financing in the various regions of Europe and Africa.
