Successful Pressure Test in Terneuzen

April 2019

A further milestone on the way to the successful construction of the process steam boiler plant in Terneuzen has been reached. On 25.02.2019 the boiler plant successfully withstood a test pressure of 100 bar.

Punctually for the contractually agreed date, in February 2019 the boiler pressure test was completed. At a boiler test pressure of 100 bar all 7,900 pressure part weld seams proved their tightness.

That event was accordingly acknowledged on 01.04.2019 within the scope of a pressure test celebration. Following the questioning of the TÜV representative on the proper performance of the pressure test and the traditional reading out of the boiler saying, stamping of the boiler nameplate was performed by Messrs. Vitus Dewenter (TÜV), Frank Broeders (DOW), Martin Hofman (E.ON), Markus Wächter (E.ON) and Markus Artz (SBG).

In January 2017, Standardkessel Baumgarte GmbH (SBG), as the general contractor, secured the order for the construction of the new process steam boiler plant for E.ON Power Plants Belgium bvba. At the production location of DOW Benelux BV in Terneuzen, the new boiler plant is being integrated into an existing power plant structure. Already at the end of this year, the plant is to go into operation and to ensure the process steam supply at the production location.
