We have some exciting news to share! Our Energy-from-Waste plant in the UK has achieved a significant milestone: We have successfully completed the pressure test for the first boiler line. The initial boiler of the two new EfW lines, which are setting new industry standards with an efficiency exceeding 30%, endured the required test pressure of 140 bar (g) for a full 30 minutes without any pressure drop.
Looking ahead, the plant will annually thermally treat 400,000 tonnes of non-recyclable household, commercial, and industrial waste, generating 2 x 91.4 t of steam to produce 49 MW of electricity at the 100% load case. With the successful completion of the pressure test, we've taken another stride toward the completion of a leading-edge European plant of its kind.
This achievement would not have been possible without the exceptional efforts of our project team. We extend our gratitude to each team member for their dedication and outstanding work. Additionally, we reflect on our productive collaboration with our consortium partner METKA and express our appreciation to our customers for their trust. We take pride in making a significant contribution to sustainable waste management and clean energy provision in the UK and eagerly anticipate continuing our collaboration for a greener future.
