Successful boiler pressure test for the Romonta project

We are pleased to announce that we have successfully taken another step together in our Romonta project. Together with TÜV Rheinland, we were able to successfully carry out the boiler pressure test on schedule.

To ensure the necessary heat supply for the site, Standardkessel Baumgarte was commissioned to build a new steam generation plant with RDF firing. Romonta and Standardkessel Baumgarte have worked together successfully on RDF boiler plants that were built in 2004 and 2009. We are particularly pleased about the smooth cooperation so far and look forward with confidence to the next steps of the project.

Romonta EBS GmbH intends to expand its waste utilisation centre for a capacity of 240,000 t/a RDF and to discontinue the previous energy recovery of the residual coal produced in the company's own power plant by 2024.

The boiler held the required test pressure of 140 bar for the required 30 minutes. Even during the following inspection, no leaks were detected at the maximum permissible 92 bar. We are proud to have mastered this challenge together on time and would like to thank our customer for the trust and productive cooperation.
